In the world of Cinema, there are some movies that transcend time.  Classics that you always remember for their style, panache, high quality of acting, music, cinematography, direction, scripting, and special effects.  Then there are my favorites.  They aren’t necessarily completely bad, but they usually are just a little left of center.  Something is a little off.  Some make you go “Huh?”, others elicit a “WTF?”  Some are horrifying, some just baffling, and others hilarious, albeit usually unintentionally.  I have spent over 25 years watching, loving, and collecting the best of these odd theatrical offerings.  The movies here are from my movie shelf, and musings on why I love its contents.

I truly love music.  Although my television isn’t on much during the day, it is rarely quiet here.  I run playlists from early in the morning until we settle down to watch tv at night.  I can’t say I really have a favorite genre, although if pressed I would probably pick Jazz, Swing, or Big Band.  I have always said that I love everything except Rap & George Jones, but even there are exceptions.  Whatever I happen to be humming to myself at the moment is apt to be posted and discussed here.

Books.  Gotta Love ‘em.  My house has expansive shelves littered with books of all descriptions in almost every room.  E-readers are all well and good, but nothing beats the feel and smell of a good old dog eared and well worn book when you curl up on the couch or snuggle down for the night.  I’ll probably blather on about my favorite authors and books here sooner or later, as well.
